Willowbank Phase 2

Following its successful delivery of Phase 1, Datum Groundworks was retained to deliver the groundworks package for Phase 2 of the 274-home Willowbank development in Sandwich, Kent.

Scope Of Works

• New carriageways and footpaths
• Foul and surface-water drainage
• Utility services and a new substation
• Kerbing and hard landscaping
• Scaffold and crane mats
• Oversites and retaining walls
• Asbestos clearance
• Soft landscaping

Outcome

The site’s layout and location around the River Stour create access and logistical challenges requiring careful planning and coordination.

The initial 26-week package was valued at £1.21 million. As the development has progressed, the client has continued to release further plots to Datum, extending its role beyond the original scope.

The repeat appointment and continued expansion of the works reflect the strong relationship between Datum and the client, built across both phases of the development.
