PROJECT OVERVIEW
Guildmore won the contract to build 29 new flats, 29 houses and 900sq metres of commercial space at the former bus depot in one of Kent’s popular seaside towns. The construction company had never previously worked with Datum Groundworks but had heard good feedback from others so gave us the opportunity to tender for the project. Following the competitive tender process, we were awarded the contract to provide extensive groundworks services for the £20 million town regeneration project in Herne Bay.
PROJECT DELIVERY
The extensive groundworks included piling attendance, foundations, sub structures, RC frame and podium slabs, drainage and external.
PROJECT OUTCOME
The project is still underway but feedback from the client so far has been wholly positive. Guildmore’s Project Manager on the Herne Bay site says: “Datum communicated well during negotiations and clearly had a good understanding of our requirements. This gave us the confidence to proceed with them and during the first phase of the works Datum has shown good management, a flexible approach and an attention to detail in line with our expectations. I am confident our working relationship will continue to flourish through to handover and future contracts.”
